The much awaited national social enterprise Visit Programme is now launched!
The Visit Programme has been set up to provide opportunities to visit Social Firms and Work Integration Social Enterprises (WISEs). The programme’s main aim is to enable Social Firms and WISES to learn from each other, but it is also a response to a wider demand to understand how social enterprises can compete in their chosen markets and employ and support people at severe disadvantage in the labour market. What better way to learn than to visit an enterprise with a successful business model for achieving this?
The Visit Programme offers you a simple way to identify an appropriate enterprise according to your interests, and for setting up the visit. This website tells you where you can visit, how to book, and what to expect from the experience.
All of the visit hosts participating in the programme are committed to the principle of improving social enterprise through the open exchange and demonstration of successful practice. Each one has at least one particular area of expertise that is essential to the running of a successful Social Firm or WISE (for example in marketing, procurement, business planning or leadership).
The programme is coordinated by Social Firms UK, and is supported by strategic partnership funding from the Cabinet Office, Office of the Third Sector.
